Genealogical Services Overview
Welcome to our Genealogical Services Section.
Public interest and demand for genealogy has been growing steadily over the past several years and we now receive between 90 and 200 genealogical research requests per month. We are proud to say that we have been offering professional and trusted genealogical services specializing in French-Canadian and Métis families for over 25 years! Our genealogists are certified and our institution accredited.
Please note that a family history and a genealogy are not the same thing. If you are looking for anectdotes, photos, life stories, newspaper clippings and other such documents, you are in effect wanting a family history. We do not offer family histories due to their time-consuming nature but can help on site visitors do this type of research themselves.
If you require an official Proof of Métis Ancestry for a citizenship application with the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF), you will need to have one done through our genealogy department. At this time, our genealogies are the only ones officially recognized and accepted by the Manitoba Metis Federation Citizenship Application process. Please contact the Citizenship Department of the MMF for more information.
